In a secluded location a brief drive north west of Galle you will be met by Tuk Tuk and as evening draws in taken a short distance to a lamp-lit mud hut. Greeted by a cold towel and welcome drink, you are met by a colorful collection of arranged ingredients as your hosts begin to cook an array of delights stemming from the humble roti.
Sri Lankan Pol Roti is considered to be such a delicious dish that doesn’t utilize any leavening ingredients. it is perhaps considered the most versatile of elements in Sri Lankan cuisine. This crisp, authentic cuisine when drizzled with Sambol/Pork Curry, it tastes like heaven with its unique inciting smell which makes it a scrumptious appetizer.
Another appealing cuisine is ‘Kottu Roti’ which is made stir-fried on a large hot plate, chopped and mixed with the rhythmical sound Taka-Taka is a delicate treat for the eyes. This Sri Lankan traditional food holds a very special place in the heart of everyone due to its traditional delicacy.
You are welcome to actively participate in preparing all varieties of luscious meals , As the soft sound of crickets fills the air, sit down to your rustic hideaway dinner and savour a variety of roti and hoppers with the likes of prawn, pork and cuttlefish curries, made especially for you combined with a magnificent touch of Sri Lankan acoustic music.
