Walk through the Kanneliya Rainforest with a naturalist and understand the biodiversity of the forest. Dip in the stream and have a local lunch. Located within a 1.5-hour drive from Galle, The Kanneliya Rainforest is home to a range of endemic flora and fauna. This thick jungle is an ideal place for an extensive trek or a walk to get to know more about the wildlife in tropical rainforests of Sri Lanka.
The Trek starts with a climb and upon advancing, we reach a small waterfall at the Halfway point named ‘Anagimale’. Views from the mountain are breathtaking as we see the extend of the rainforest and how it blankets the surrounding area. This halfway point is a good place to relax before we head down to reach the river and have a dip. We learn the origin of this waterfall and how it supports the livelihood of people in the vicinity. We make our way back to take a dip in the stream and have Lunch on the river. “A fantastic nature walk designed to enjoy the majestic vistas and exquisite scenary”

In a dynamic effort to combat deforestation and bolster environmental conservation, we proudly present to you, the ‘Brown Roots’ Project, launched on World Environment Day, June 5th, 2017, undertaken in collaboration with Browns Tours. Working closely with relevant authorities and organizations, including Sri Lanka Forest Reserves, we stand united in preserving and enriching the beauty of our island home for generations to come.
Our commitment:
As part of our unwavering dedication, we have pledged to plant a tree for every traveler who embarks on a journey with us, and since its inception, the ‘Brown Roots’ project has already seen the planting of over 3000 trees in the central province of Sri Lanka by the end of 2018.
Our resolve remains resolute, and with your invaluable support, we endeavour to further elevate this number in the years ahead. Join us in nurturing the very roots of nature’s grandeur.
