Gal Oya National Park – An Exceptional Wildlife Adventure
Located in Sri Lanka’s intermediate zone, Gal Oya National Park covers 26,000 hectares, offering a varied landscape and a rich diversity of wildlife. The park is home to 32 mammal species, over 150 bird species, and numerous reptiles and amphibians. The Sri Lankan Elephant, a sub-species of the Asian Elephant, roams freely, with Senayake Samdura providing one of the best opportunities to observe these magnificent creatures swimming between islands.

Wildlife Encounters
Embark on a Boat Safari to spot the elusive Mugger Crocodile, a species endemic to South Asia that can grow up to 5 meters. These powerful reptiles are often seen basking on rocks or hunting along the shore. Though the Sri Lankan Leopard is hard to spot due to its nocturnal habits, sightings are occasionally made.
